About the Work
This hand-coloured lithograph comes from the workshop of Day & Haghe, official lithographers to Queen Victoria, and belongs to the circle of Jane Loudon's celebrated botanical volumes of the 1840s. The vivid, carefully applied hand-colouring in bright blue, yellow and pink makes this plate a genuine eye-catcher. A charming piece of Victorian botanical culture, attractively framed and ready to hang.
